Color & Light & Space. Oh MY!
I somewhat fail to see how I can be rather smart about colors, textures, et. al. when I create my generally small bits of art (at least smaller than a room) and utterly fail when it comes to painting walls for interior design. You saw my collage/vision board thing... um... what else do I have a picture of on this computer that shows color happiness...? Oh, here we go, just ignore the work table around the piece:
I did this in an altered book a friend was making. The door opens to a person doing a handstand and a design inside the door |
See? I can be decent with color and spacing and texture. But, it remains that I am not so with walls.
So! My godmother found this cool website where you can upload a picture, select some colors and put them on the walls! It's not perfect. For instance, I've been playing with it and I sometimes have to go into the "edit" screen and play around with drawing a line down one wall to tell the thing that one wall (that I wish to make a separate color from the next) is its own entity. But, if you're excited to help me figure out wall colors, I'd be super pleased to have you play with this as long as you enjoy it.

I think you can only do one picture upload at a time, so pick a room, or however many you feel excited to play with, and send me pictures (screenshot, camera shot...) of anything you create that you like. I don't care if you use pink and orange. If you think it looks good, I'll enjoy seeing it whether or not I choose those colors eventually.
Here's a pic of what I created in the living room just for kicks.
It doesn't do it perfectly; you can still see some sick kitty color around the white hanging violin and inside the polished wood clock that looks oddly like a fish, but it gives you a good sense. So, I'll post the pictures of the house I took and you just click and download whatever one/s you want, then upload them to the color site and play until it's no longer fun for you. Send me pictures of what you create that you like! If you're not sure how to get a hold of me, ask on FB, or via text (but then you could just text me a photo?), or just leave a comment here and I'll get you a way.
In case you're waiting for it, a registry to at least Lowes is on the way. We went by there last night to look at the actual wood colors they have instead of trusting the online rendering. Of course, they were out of all the prefabricated fence bits, but we could look at the one-off pickets (why does that word always make me think of noses...?).
