Housewarming et. al.
Hi everyone. Well, the sellers closed on Thursday and say they're moving out in two weeks. (I guess they didn't want to pay rent.) So, we're moving a lot sooner than we expected! You know how moving stinks? Yeah... we're not really looking forward to it. And while technically I was allowed to pick up things greater than 20lbs (9.1kg) last Wednesday, I'm not certain if that includes our 200lb (90.1kg) bed, or our hella heavy table. We'll figure it out.
We do want to spend some time in the house doing our best to get it ready before we move in things that have to be pushed around to accommodate our fixing. But we have to discuss that. It could be we end up paying rent on our apartment and mortgage at the same time and that's unideal. Pros and cons...
The things we've talked about really wanting to accomplish to make the house livable to us are installing a fence for the dog (this includes a dog door, but that should be pretty simple unless that door is metal covered). And painting away the sick kitty color.
It's not that this is a bad color. I think some design person somewhere would make great use of it. But I just don't want a color that reminds me of swamp grasses puked forward by an upset cat tummy. And it's a bit dark for this home. We may also get new window dressings. We're not a fan of venetian blinds, although they're totally useable depending on the funds we do and do not allot.
Our goal is to funnel our energy and money into building our ideal home up on the pad. It will take a lot of both of those things (energy and money). And if you want to help (and we anticipate it will take us at least five years, so there's lots of time for assistance you may want to offer), we're grateful, though we don't expect this of anyone specifically.
Still, I know some of you will want to do something that shows you're excited for this specific new home, building another home aside. Your presence in our lives is something we're lucky to have from each of you and it's absolutely enough. However, if you have the desire and the ability, here are some possible gift ideas that would make moving into our new home better and easier.

If you decide one of these things is something you want to do and within your means, let us know if there's info or direction you want.
Oh! I thought of another thing! It probably needs money, but I have this vision board I made, originally for going to nursing school but then... well, it got stupid and nursing school was canceled due to a pandemic and now I use it for nudging me in business. Anyway, I got it printed on a canvas frame (10" x 16") and it needs framing. I've had it for a long time and honestly, I just don't want to worry about the framing. I don't particularly care what frame as long as it doesn't clash terribly and covers at least a fourth of an inch around the picture (presumably it needs that anyway to hold it in). So, if you want to make that happen, I'd love it.
